The sun-drenched white sand beaches of Byron Bay, Australia are a far cry from the city streets and long winters of Canada's capital Ottawa, but these are the two worlds that owner Jen Dalgleish inhabited, and the reason Tallow came about. After years spent living in Australia and frequently returning there to visit her family, Jen recognised an emerging bohemian fashion scene, which she quickly fell in love with. There was nothing like it in Ottawa, and she set about to introduce this relaxed feminine style to Ottawa and beyond.

Teaming up with childhood best friend and co-owner of Pure Yoga Ottawa, Amber Stratton, as well as veteran swimwear shop owner Gemma Riley-Laurin, Tallow was born in 2017. Named after a long white-sand beach in Byron Bay, Tallow reflects the laid-back, coastal vibe of that magical place.

In late 2019 Tallow moved from it's original Hintonburg location to its current central Westboro location. Stocking globally-loved brands like Spell, Arnhem, Mother Denim, Free People, L*Space swim and more, Tallow is the go-to boutique for beautiful luxe-bohemian styles that you'll love for many years.
